ASSAULT SURVIVOR KITS^®

Many times, assault survivors must give their clothing to the police for evidence. The hospitals have sent the victims home in paper gowns. Assistance League of Austin gives the hospitals Assault Survivor Kits, which include toilet articles and new clothing for the assault survivor. These women can leave the hospital with a little more dignity. Recovery from Rape by Linda Ledray, R.N., Ph.D. is provided to help the survivors with their recovery. This program was initiated in 1996.

	Last year grooming kits and clothing kits were provided to female and male assault survivors through St. Davids Hospital. There are an average of 25 rapes/assaults reported each month in Austin. Unfortunately, the need continues to grow.
