BUS WITH US

On tour of the Painted Churches of Central Texas
|
BUS WITH US was founded in 1978. Senior citizens from nursing homes, assisted
living centers and senior centers are taken on escorted excursions. There are half-day trips on
handicapped-accessible buses to Austin sites and all-day trips to sites outside of Austin
for those more able. The trips are free and include entrance fees. Members of Assistance
League
act as tour guides.
Assistance League contracts with bus companies and the Lone Star River Boat for trips
in fall and spring when the weather is mild. |

Some bus trip destinations are the George Bush
Presidential Library, Texas Ranger Museum in Waco, Schulenberg's Painted Churches, Fredericksburg, Willow City Loop for wildflower viewing,
Forbidden City replica in Katy, and San Antonio's Institute of Texan Cultures. Boat trips are held on Austin's Town Lake.
BUS WITH US has served over 23,500 senior citizens during the past 29 years.
A program unique to Assistance League of Austin, BUS WITH US was conceived and
developed by Anna Ruth Eads, a charter member.

Dear Friends:
Please accept my sincere thanks for providing
transportation and service on October 8th for a delightful ride on Lake Austin. The ladies must
have prayed for good weather because it was a perfect day. And I am sure those who were on canes
and walkers appreciated their patience. Eating out was a treat from our "institutional" food.
Again, thank all of you for a pleasing outing.
Sincerely, Dorothy M.F.
