JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS:

Junior members give young Austin women the chance to balance career, family and other interests while providing an opportunity to give back to Austin.  The members make a difference in our community through our Preparation for Adult Living program.  They also take part in ALA programs for:

• UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN AND STUDENTS

  Junior member assisting with ALA's      OPERATION SCHOOL BELL

• HOSPITALIZED CHILDREN  
• ASSAULT/RAPE SURVIVORS  
• SENIOR CITIZENS  
• THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE

Our membership represents women from a variety of backgrounds including:

• AUSTIN'S WORKFORCE  
• STAY-AT-HOME MOMS  
• STUDENTS

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Since our inception in January 2000, Junior members:

• Raise funds to provide Toy Cart at Dell Children's Medical Center with new books.
• Host Graduation Parties since 2002 and provide "Life Kits" to Travis County foster children.
• Provide mentoring for teens in the foster care system.
• Fulfill staffing needs for other ALA programs such as our Thrift House, Toy Cart, and Operation School Bell.
• Raise funds for the organization by arranging for ALA to be the beneficiary of Austin Woman Magazine's 'Tiara Tuesday'.
