A Message from the President
Assistance League of Austin is one of 120 chapters chartered by National Assistance League to serve their
communities by addressing many of the basic needs of their most at-risk citizens and significantly improving
their lives. This Austin chapter is an amazing all-volunteer group of women (and many of their spouses) who
regularly set their collective sights on achieving great things. The enormous program successes that this chapter
documents and enjoys are unique combinations of focused,
practical efforts toward goal achievement—the result of
focusing on important goals, bringing precision to the strategies for achieving them, and
committing to caring
with such determination and tenacity that goal achievement is inevitable.
We believe that it is our special brand
of practical magic—working through purposeful initiatives that lead to accomplishing great things—that makes us
strong and successful! Our success is not just the result of WHAT we do, but it is the WAY we do it! Our personal
commitment to those we serve is the foundation for the extraordinarily diverse and consistently high-quality
community services we have been able to provide for more than 30 years. Our programs literally “hum” as they
align good ideas with efficient and effective implementation. We trust that you will get the flavor of Assistance
League’s mission and achievements as you tour this site, and we are so very proud to showcase our history and the
success of our programs.
We are colleagues, friends, and family—and we make practical magic happen! Thank you for
